The Role
As we continue to expand operations, we are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to manage and successfully prepare, process, and deliver timely payment to our employees. The Payroll Supervisor will ensure all payment processes and procedures are in place to help the company scale. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing, including collecting timesheets, calculating and inputting payroll data for all employees.
- Record payroll and benefit-related journal entries.
- Manage daily requirements for final pay and adjustments for the off-cycle check process.
- Assist in administering employee retirement plans while ensuring compliance with data protection, procedures and documentation.
- Administer and maintain Rippling payroll system, ensuring compliance and data integrity and implementing system upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with HR, finance and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions and salary changes.
- Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
- Generate payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits deductions and other required reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
- Add states as necessary for recording of payroll and payroll taxes.
- Stay updated on payroll regulations, tax laws and industry trends, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Assist with 401k and other financial related audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- This position requires 3+ years of demonstrable previous payroll experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Payroll system knowledge, Excel skills, Gmail email management
- Recognize the importance of handling highly confidential information, and must have excellent judgment and organization skills.
- Netsuite ERP system experience a plus.
- Rippling system experience a plus.
- Experience managing tax regulations, set up, and filing.
- Deep understanding of payroll-related regulations (wage and hour laws, IRS rules regarding supplemental wages, legal guidelines for wage garnishments, etc.)
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $100,000- $120,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
