About Veev

Veev is leading the transformation of the construction industry with an innovative approach to modular home construction. Veev’s prefabricated closed-panel systems allow homes to be assembled efficiently on-site while delivering a more sustainable and higher-quality final product than traditional construction. As a new subsidiary of Lennar, Veev leverages the strength and scale of its parent company while maintaining the speed and disruptive approach of its roots as a Silicon Valley-based startup. Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

This role plays a key part in advancing Veev’s mission by ensuring the electrical systems in our modular homes are efficient, code-compliant, and seamlessly integrated with mechanical and plumbing designs. As an Electrical Engineer, your work will directly support Veev’s ability to scale operations and deliver innovative, industry-leading housing solutions.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer within the Sustaining Engineering team, you will support the continuous development and improvement of electrical systems for existing residential modular product lines. This role focuses on ensuring code-compliant, high-quality designs while driving product refinements based on field feedback, engineering evaluations, and customer change requests. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve RFIs, implement design updates, and maintain alignment with building codes and energy standards. Your work will directly impact Veev’s ability to deliver reliable, scalable housing solutions that meet evolving operational and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain highly detailed, coordinated BIM Revit models for electrical systems, integrated with structural and MEP disciplines, in alignment with R&D-provided guidelines and Veev standards.
  • Support continuous improvement of existing electrical system designs for modular residential products, including updates driven by field feedback, factory needs, and engineering enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain production documentation, including electrical assembly drawings for factory (Fab) and installation drawings for field/site deployment.
  • Respond to RFIs from both the field and Fab teams, resolving design or implementation issues with code-compliant solutions.
  • Coordinate with third-party designers (e.g., fire alarm, sprinkler, low-voltage) to ensure all systems comply with NEC, NFPA, and Veev-specific design standards.
  • Ensure all electrical designs are code-compliant, compatible with specific home configurations, and aligned with Title 24 energy efficiency requirements.
  • Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and circuit design validation to ensure optimal electrical performance.
  • Identify and propose cost-saving or efficiency improvements in system design while maintaining performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with BIM & MCAD teams to create and maintain robust, scalable digital design assets.
  • Highlight design gaps or cross-disciplinary clashes early and resolve them collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide design review support during permitting and submission processes.
  • Provide regular updates to the team lead and key stakeholders on progress, blockers, and deliverables.

Must-Have Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards, with proven experience applying them to residential single-family home designs.
  • Familiarity with California Title 24 and energy compliance for residential construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and circuit protection coordination.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and working within BIM environments for multi-disciplinary coordination (STR, ARC, MEP).
  • Strong understanding of how electrical systems integrate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural designs.
  • Experience supporting field and factory teams through RFI resolution, deviation response, and iterative design improvement.
  • Ability to produce detailed and accurate production documentation for both factory assembly and site installation.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to track and manage multiple ongoing tasks.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset aligned with continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in electrical design and MEP coordination.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Competencies

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or path to licensure in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working in off-site construction, prefabrication, or panelized/modular housing environments.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm and life safety system design, especially in residential contexts.
  • Exposure to SolidWorks and/or PDM systems for hardware and system integration.
  • Understanding of design-for-manufacture principles, with experience optimizing designs for scalable production.
  • Working knowledge of American permitting processes and building department submittals.
  • Experience collaborating with third-party consultants for low voltage, fire protection, and system design packages.
